Rainbow, Question of the Day, Freak of the Week

Rainbow
Tonight I was on the way home from a particularly contentious meeting where we had to ask some tough questions and I fear I ended up putting some people on the defensive. So I was kind of rehashing all that in my head, making sure I had not said anything too harsh or that would have hurt anyone's feelings, and I looked up and there was a beautiful double rainbow.

The rainbow is one of the symbols that I have been tossing around in my head as an integral part of my faith and my faith journey, and seeing it reminded me of a lot of things that were lost during that meeting - that God, and His love, unite us. That all the things we are trying to accomplish are both in the name of God and through His grace. That it is, after all, not about us, but about what God needs from and expects from us.

So I watched the Rainbow all the way home, and it stayed with me. And somewhere in the cut-through neighborhood, when I looked at it, it looked like it ended right over our house, and I was reminded of something else...that my family, my home, the love and the work that is there is truly my pot of gold. And little else is as important as that.

Question of the Day
What group did you belong to in high school? I was a band nerd, then after we moved I was just a nerd. I have to wonder what my friends were - and the people I know from church and work. Was Jeff in the AV club? I know Carolyn was a hood...what about PatC a jock??? I would love to see their yearbooks...mine have all been burned!

Freak of the Week
OK, people, I am sure you are tired of me complaining about Earl, the new alleged sit-com NBC is offering up this season. But this guy, who actually picks Earl as the best sitcom on TV this fall just makes me want to puke. I don't see this being a good show. But this critic actually calls it a LAUGH RIOT. I AM APPALLED. But I will admit to being excited about Everybody Hates Chris!! That Chris Rock cracks me up. I know he hates me, but he cracks me up anyway.

So, tomorrow - WACKY workday Wednesday. I'll have to ask around and see what I can come up with...but I'll see you then!!

Good night, sleep tight, don't let the bedbugs bite!
